A lovely pub/hotel. Staff are extremely helpful and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are situated at the rear of the pub, motel style. Rooms are on the small side but adequately equipped throughout, including tea and coffee facilities.

We stayed 2 nights and the evening menu was delicious and we could tell all the food was freshly cooked. Breakfast was the usual cereal, yoghurt, juice and choice of cooked breakfast.

Ideally situated for Dorchester or Weymouth.

Room was next to the pool area - number 8. Did have a slight smell of chlorine and shower could really do with some mould remover spray around the rim. Could not fault the dinner, bar and outside area. I can imagine that this gets very busy in the summer.

The reason I would not recommend this hotel for business would mainly be the lack of signal and breakfast times. The hotel does have wifi in the bar but nothing in the room. We paid for bed and breakfast and found out on check in that breakfast was 8:30-9:30am. Not ideal for those who work. The hotel did provide us with a continental breakfast after it was requested which contained butter, milk, yogurt, ham and cheese but with no fridge in the room. Couldn't face it warm.

I can imagine families with small children would enjoy it here.

Very nice little hotel with a good restaurant in a very secluded little village surrounded by hills. No mobile phone reception in village which was a pleasant change as it made people speak to one another instead of updating their profile. One other pub in the village which is nice for a drink and the next pub is two miles up hill along a beautiful lane which we walked. don't belive the sign which says 1.5 miles. The hotel still retains an old fashioned honest feel as was proven when my wife left her necklace in the room and only realised the following day, she telephoned the hotel, staff found necklace and posted it back to our address. Hotel and area definitely worth a visit if you want a relaxing break.

Having previously had a lunch with a friend at The Poachers Inn Piddletrenthide which was fabulous my husband and I booked a celebration party for our Grandsons Christening last Sunday. Sarah who owns and manages the place was just fabulous at ensuring everything was correct for us and the questions were always answered punctually. The Sunday lunch was excellent in quality and value and the girls who served the 16 guests were both welcoming and friendly. A great day was had by all and we are now looking at spending Christmas there Thank you xx

Room Tip: Area very peaceful as The Poachers Inn is in very green countryside

Wow! What a great place! My husband and I went to The Poachers Inn last weekend for a wedding reception. We were even privilidged to stay over for the evening. The food was 'out of this world', the best chicken roast dinner I've eaten and a delicious brownie and ice cream! The room was really good with everything you needed, comfy bed, good decor. The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. There is also a heated swimming pool! We will definitely have a return stay!
