Yes, I gave a 5 star review, which I stand by.
However, this evening we were met at the entrance to the restaurant and told by a very rude lady that flip flops are not allowed in the restaurant. My partner was wearing leather Birkenstock open toed shoes, which she wears for an ongoing foot complaint.
I was guilty of wearing sliders, which I admit isn’t proper foot wear for an evening meal.
On inspection of other guests using the restaurant, I am being very honest when I say at least 75% of guests were wearing similar footwear.
The rude lady who spoke to us said that the hotel received a complaint, I would strongly suggest that the Porto Bello Royal re-evaluate their decision and look to the majority of their guests instead of the one complainant.
Spoke to other guests and they told me they will wear what they want and feel comfortable in.
Here’s hoping they change their mind and keep the otherwise earned 5 starsMore
