We had a superb lunch in the Hotel Albrici. Warm welcome, and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The 3 mushroom pizza was the best we had ever tasted, and the pasta dish we had was also excellent. Highly recommended.

Spent 2 nights here on our trip through Switzerland. Valentina and the staff are very accommodating for their guests. Did my laundry on a Sunday, helped us plan our day trips and took great care of us in the restaurant. The pizza here is some of best you will ever have. This is a great location to base your stay and explore the valley. With a 2 night stay you get free access to the train from Saint Moritz to Tirano. Nothing printed in English around so bring your Italian translation book, German is available too.

We stopped for lunch on our way to Tirano and was really happy with our choice. The food was delicious and service was excellent. The waiters were so friendly, it definitely made our visit more memorable as we were celebrating a birthday. Thank you.

Mara, Davide and Valentina are excellent people's people. The staff is most definitely the highlight of Hotel Albrici. The rooms do not have coffee / tea trolleys and Valentina went out of the way to bring us the machine, cups, coffee, milk.. it was very touching.
Poschiavo overall has nothing much to offer, but you would perhaps be going in with eyes wide open anyway. It is a quaint town and the river is beautiful. Albrici is right opposite the San Vittore Church and it is a stunning one.
There is no elevator and rooms are on the second floor.
Food is divine. Everything we ordered was excellently made and beautifully plated. We didn't feel the need to explore other restaurants / cafes (there are a few).
Rooms are ready not before 1 p.m. We came in by the Bernina Express and had a 45 min wait but it wasn't bothersome at all. They were all lovely about it.
The bar, restaurant and hotel staff are well concerted and know what's happening with guests and who's ordered what. Delightful Swiss efficiency.
The hotel is a 1780 Mayorial mansion and the knick-knacks are worth admiring.
Apologies for not putting up photographs. We were too engrossed in drinking and eating.

Room tip: Not much of a view being city centre. Rooms opening towards the square look on the church and a bit of the mountain top.

This is a place for people who enjoy unusual & historic places - Poschiavo is a beautiful village - just the village folk and a very small number of tourists. Hotel Albrici is a historic place. It was built as his palace in late 17th century by the Mayor of Poschiavo. It became the residence of his daughter and her Baron husband. This place became a meeting point of the Illuminati as well as the place for politics discussions & music. Great thinkers, authors & composers have stayed here when it was a palace as well as after it became a hotel in 1848.

When you check-in, the hotel staff give you a really nice tour of this historic building. Ground level is where the restaurant is located. Then there is a steep climb up the staircase to start your tour of this historic place. On the next level are the guest rooms. This is not a place for you if you can’t climb steep staircase.

The food at the restaurant is reasonably ok, but not memorable. The service at this hotel makes you forget all that - very warm, very friendly and very keen to please the guests.

Spend a day here. Just walk around this beautiful & serene village. It is very memorable
