This was our first canoe trip as a family with friends. Before the canoe trip this was our meeting place before the big day on Saturday morning. Once we arrived it was full of campers on one side of the camp ground and the other side were lots of tents. It was a very clean park with available clean bathrooms and showers.

We only stayed one night on a powered site. Price was reasonable at $30 NZD for the night. Waimate is a good sized town but it would have been a bit of a walk into the town from the park. The facilities were very average - showers and toilets could do with a tidy up. Kitchen also was a bit shabby. Despite that the facilities were all quite usable. We liked the town of Waimate so it was worth a visit.
