Wednesday night and we were looking for a place to have a pub meal near Glenavy. The Studholme Hotel is back from the main road behind the milk factory and has a nice look and feel inside. The staff were friendly and laid back, a few different beers on tap and the food was better than expected. The lamb shanks were pick of the day but we were pleasantly surprised by the crumbed Camembert as an entree. I would definitely return for a meal.

We stayed quite a few times at short notice, often arriving late and leaving early as we sorted a deceased estate property in the area. What a clean, relaxed, amazing place this is. The staff are wonderful, the service top notch, the rooms so beautifully restored and you are treated with respect and care, as if you are family. We couldn't speak highly enough of our experiences. We had food allergies and need to access the hotel after hours and nothing was a bother. We definitely plan to revisit

We stayed at the Studholme Hotel with our children. Each bedroom has William Morris wallpaper, period furnishings and rural views. It is a lovely place to stay and we will definitely come again when we are going to Timaru as it isn't far away.

We were travelling through here on a private train trip. The train stopped and we all wandered over to the Hotel for a drink. What fun. A lovely place to enjoy a meal and a drink.

A well kept, clean Hotel. Interesting photo's to peruse and a nice beer to be had. It's hidden off the main road, but worth the very short detour.
