A Motel for memories.

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Jun 2024
This Motel is far from luxurious as stated on their website.
The mattress was very soft especially around edges giving the feeling you could fall off, not a luxury bed at all. The non luxury T.V. only offers freeview channels with NO smart connect so you can use your own Netflix , Sky or other accounts, something many NON luxurious motels in N.Z. offer. The shower surround was very grubby with mould evidence. When staying more than one night room servicing is at a minimum, make sure you read the rule book with regard to a linen change. On the plus side the Nespresso capsule and tea bags were replenished, but you will need to provide your own milk for a second night. In conclusion a peaceful motel with 5 star pricing and 2 star facilities. I would have given it 3 stars but the one ply toilet paper was not luxurious at all.
Thanks.

Thank you for your review. As much as Netflix and Sky TV are fun to pass an evening, we do offer great views of the night sky with all the stars in view on most nights and Restaurants in the area to enjoy good food or an evening out. Many of our attractions are not available in other parts of NZ and this may be the reason for your trip to Aoraki Mt Cook. Most modern communication devices do display online entertainment if needed. Our showers and rooms are very clean, this is a feature of the property and one area we focus on very diligently, the discoloration of the plastic beads and silicon around the shower are related to chemical reaction and age, they do get replaced every few years for this reason.
We do provide a meaningful service for a Motel, the term motel in NZ does refer to self service rather than the Hotel term for full service accommodation, our offer to remove waste, replace towels that are left on the floor as per the room instruction and we also clean the dishes if any are evident in the kitchen. Water conservation plays a key part in our laundry policy as we do live in a remote environment with limited resources, everyone should play there part to ensure that any item not needing to be washed is re-used to avoid the unwanted distress to the environment. Our toilet paper is a plush two ply product at the premium end of the product scale, we use this as a practical solution and have had no negative feedback on it other than your own.
Thank you for staying at Aoraki Court Motel

Fantastic accommodation and friendly hosts. Beautiful scenery from your window, comfortable bed and lovely spa at the end of Hooker Valley hike. I left my watch at the accommodation and Fiona graciously arranged for it to be couriered onto to our hotel booked in Dunedin. 10 out of 10.

Room tip: If you're planning on doing the Hooker Valley Track it's extremely slippery and icy. I recommend cleats for your shoes.

First of all, I didn't expect much from the booking app that I will be able to get a 5 star rated stay within this area but this accommodation amazed me. My husband and I have to admit that this is the best stay ever that we had during our trip here. The kitchen is well equipped, bed linen and pillows is just perfect to us. We love the stunning alps view and not to forget the jacuzzi and the floor with warmer. The room facilities is new and well maintained. Check in and out is simple and fast, host are friendly and helpful. This is must come back stay to us. Highly recommended!

Room tip: Book early from the platform or book direct from the hotel website to avoid disappointment.

At base of MT Cook activities is tiny Mt Cook village which has several Small hotels/motels for us tourist to stay. The reviews are accurate of this Motel it is clean modern, has fridge cooktop pots pans plates great water pressure for shower and ng heater in bathroom to keep you warm after shower.

Place was quiet at night, did not hear other guest even thou the condo style units adjoined. Great choice compared to tourst bus hotel 100 yards away.

Place is expensive for what you get, however it is par for other hotel rooms in this small town. Bring your own food, only one restaurant in town, no grocery stores. Again, this is one horse town in middle of hiking trails.

Room tip: Bring food ! there are NO grocery stores ! ONLY one overpriced restraunt in town!

Spotlessly clean and cosy, a nice walk up to other amenities and to the village (Hermitage hotel etc.) and Hooker Valley walks. Lovely warm motel room with lovely spa bath and good toiletries. Great parking right outside and an o site laundry which was a bonus.

Fantastic Lodge in the midst of the most dramatic scenery. We had a lovely stay at the lodge which had all the amenities that we needed. Fantastically clean and plenty of space. There were a couple of nice restaurants to eat nearby and a kitchenette in the suite which you can cook some basic meals in. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
