Great breakfast, speedy service, bright, cheerful atmosphere and a good spot to watch the comings and goings in Geraldine.

Always enjoy it here. Would have appreciated a greeting / acknowledgement as we walked in, got some menus & found a seat.
Really appreciated they modified my burger to make it 'lettuce wrapped' & checking to see how our meals were when eating.
Thank you for your lovely review. Sorry about the lack of greeting, we are working on getting all our new staff doing the same thing with excellent first impressions. Next time :) xx
Very retro, very quirky, very friendly and very, VERY delicious food. It's about one hour from Lake Tekapo. We stumbled upon it by accident as it was on the main road as we drove through on the way to Christchurch and we decided to stop for an early lunch. We all had different items from the menu and all four of us were happy with our meals. Would definitely recommend.
You are lovely, thank you so much for the kind review xx
Called in for a bite to eat on the drive to Wanaka.
Fantastic decor (retro Kiwi)
Had the Cheese rolls and bacon butty and home made baked beans.
Cheese rolls where to die for. Bacon butty was just as i remember from being young, lashings of bacon slapped between a 2 slices of fresh buttered bread :)
Home made baked beans again were amazing.
Thank you so so much for your review xx
The Running Duck Cafe on the Main Street of Geraldine on the South Island of New Zealand is the coolest cafe in the universe. Here’s why: The Running Duck is the coolest cafe in Geraldine; Geraldine is the coolest town in New Zealand; New Zealand is the coolest county on the coolest planet in the coolest Solar system in the universe. Therefore, the Running Duck Cafe is the coolest cafe in the universe, QED.
So come for the great coffee and the superb food, and stay for the super groovy decor and retro memorabilia. For those keen on flagellation, you can stock up on hot sauces from Al’s Laboratory. They have some great merchandise for sale too.
Try one of their signature burgers, their delicious range of Not Burgers, and don’t forget to sample one of the craft beers in the fridge. Kiwi batch living never looked so good or tasted so great. Oh…and don’t forget to check out the toilet which is decorated with old record sleeves and topo maps. Like I said: the coolest cafe in the Universe!
We love you, thank you xxxxx
