This place exceeded our expectations. It is a lovely, sunny house with big comfortable beds, ensuite and all mod cons including dishwasher and laundry. It even has a hot tub and huge barbecue. It is a short walk into the shopping area where the Barkers store and eatery is not to be missed.

Room tip: We are walking Te Araroa and have taken a most welcome rest day here. If driving there is no shortage of parking spaces or cafés.

We had the most incredible stay at the Fiery Peak Chalet. We were so lucky to have the most beautiful winter weather with a clear ski. The sunset is well worth sitting on the balcony with a cup of tea or a wine as the sun dips behind the mountains. As someone who lives in the city normally I never in my life seen stars like we saw at Fiery Peak! Sat in the hot tub for hours just staring at the ski. I cannot recommend this cottage more highly. The beautiful simplicity of being surrounded by nature and having everything you could need for a cosy night was everything we needed and more. As soon as you walk through the door you instantly feel at home and like you’ve just walked into paradise! Thank you so much Kay! We will definitely be back!

We stayed at Fiery Peak Chalet for a couple of nights to allow time to explore the Geraldine area. What a sweet set up!... nestled amongst trees, with a beautiful view, lovely decor, a fire to keep everything cosy warm, there's everything you need for a romantic weekend getaway or for a visit to the Geraldine area. From the sofa or from sitting up in bed we could see a lovely scene of sheep grazing and a range of hills ... lovely to watch the sun go down. Quiet and secluded - no traffic noise whatsoever. The morning sun streamed into the kitchen which had everything we needed. The solar electricity was not yet fully set up yet, but gas for stove and shower and portable lights worked fine. Honestly, the fairy lights just added to the charm. We'll be back!

We stayed here the night before my wedding and I was perfect place for us to base ourselves. It was comfortable and warm and two bathrooms which is a real tread. Great for kids too everything is set up. Thanks so much!

My partner and I booked last minute as a getaway for Easter. Kay was lovely and the communication was spot on and very friendly. We stayed before the power and landscaping was complete but this didn’t effect our overall stay. The fire keep us cosy, there were board games to keep us busy on the rainy day and the full kitchen was great allowing us to cook full meals. The bed was super comfortable for a good nights sleep. I really loved how Kay and her husband have made the property wheelchair accessible. My partner enjoyed sitting out at the BBQ with a beer. We will definitely be keeping an eye on this place for future stays.
