I ended up changing my plans and approaching Kimbell from the opposite direction. i was also going to be later, but motel was accommodating about change in arrival time. This was good as I didn't to then have to rush. Strangely I ended up not seeing any staff during my comfortable stay. Sadly the place next door which was supposed to do a good breakfast was shut.

Older rooms but spacious, very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Owner was very friendly and had put the heater on in our room in anticipation of our arrival which was such a nice gesture. I would happily stay here again.

Building was dated but furniture was all up to date. Hosts were a mine of information about what to do and which days to do it on. We stayed three nights and are going to make it a yearly thing. Nice and quiet at night and night sky amazing.

Stayed with my dog for four nights. Room very clean and warm. Pub & Restaurant next door. Areas to walk dog very close. Short drive back to Fairlie and only 20 minutes to Lake Tekapo. Owners friendly and advised local areas to visit and provided me on updates regarding weather forecast so I could plan my day.
Would definately stay here again.
Totally recommend.

Easy to book and very friendly staff. The place was very clean and enough heating to cut out the could. Good for a one night or more stay over. Really like this place and will recommend it to anyone..
