A must do place to stop.
Food and coffee was great and staff were very friendly and of course the famous NZ Keas... watch out or the cheeky little buggers will nick your food or anything else they can get their beaks into.

Very useful to have this place in the cold mountains. We had coffee twice, snacks and scones, and we charged our phones so very useful if you are travelling. Food is nothing special but it is simple and does the job. Staff were nice people.

Travelling back to Christchurch we stopped for lunch. We needed to use the toilet one was locked, one had a very large deposit that would not flush, the toilet cover in the third one would not stay up, and the toilet roll cover was missing. Toilet paper all over the place. Men’s urinal was smelly.
We informed several staff who showed no interest.

There’s not a lot of choice of where to eat in the village but I’m glad I chose this one, I would recommend the ham and cheese panini which was chock full of tasty ham and lovely melted cheese. The coffee wasn’t brilliant but the panini made up for it.
