It is just a spot to view the bridge. Do be careful of the KEA bird over there as they might attack the food u have

As we approached the weather had changed and whilst it had been very windy suddenly we were in cloud. As you drive through the overhang and under the water spout overspill you are suddenly on the viaduct! Too much to take in and concentrate on driving!! Wow the drops, where is the road going? A free halter skelter ride!
If you are on the SH73 travelling to either Greymouth or Christchurch, you have to stop at this lookout point for a fantastic view of the viaduct and surrounding area. If you are lucky, you may even see a wild Kea up there. Also, take a look at the old road which is close by and see if you would like to drive along that track.
There is a lookout where you can watxh the big viaduct in the middle of the mountains valley. The bridge is enormous.
It's a long and steep drive to Arthur's Pass from Franz Josef so it's a nice break here. Beautiful view of the viaduct and the friendly Kea wandering around.
The engineers achievements in this harsh part of NZ is just outstanding. The way they have dealt with massive slips and waterfalls is awesome. Well worth a stop to take it all in. The Keas flying around us were a bonus.
