“Stunning views and accessible walks for little legs:)”

Gilfach Nature Reserve
Reviewed 6 August 2018

Brilliant day out here with our two girls ( 6 & 3yrs old). We chose the oak tree trail which was a really nice length walk with lots of variety to see and fabulous views. Enjoyed foraging of Bilberrys and ground sorrel and our 3yr old was excited to come across a crystal placed at the base of a hawthorn tree and some epic mushrooms! This visitors centre was good with guide maps and toilets. All very quiet which was perfect for us. Will come back and try some of the other walks

Went there just as it was closing. Staff extemely friendly, nothing too much to much trouble. Chose a medium walk which was well signposted. Lovely place to visit

Visited the Gilfach nature reserve and walked the waymarked circular route. Wonderful range of habitats and plenty of wildlife to see, When we were up at the visitor centre one of the staff came out to talk to our children and gave us all a better understanding of the bees in the farmyard. Excellent visit and will return when we get the chance.

These folks really have got the signing right for all the walk options and most are easy and not too long. They make it all so interesting and enjoyable. We did the 2.3m walk in the time suggested and loved the variety of scenery and areas: woods, meadows, river etc.
