Terrible hotel, waste of money.

Before you book watch out for the type of room you book, the standard rooms are tiny, no balcony or 20 cm of balcony. Superior rooms seem better. First room the airconditioning was leaking ammonia so some dude with a gas mask came to fix it. Next day we got another room, moldy stench, which increased once we put on the air conditioning. Airing the room did not help. A line of ants visited the room frequently. Food was very basic (don't believe the glossy foto's), Pizzeria was good, drinks from a machine in the restaurant sometimes drinkable and somtimes not. Twice there was no water for a couple of hours. Tapwater is not drinkable but no botteld water in the rooms, but you can request it at reception. Beds were hard and could feel each spring separatly. Thin floppy cushions, useless. Toilet pot was standing loose. Bidet squirted in every direction. Pool became murkier every day and after 5 days full of alge, was closed down for 1,5 days for repairs. 10 Euro per day for parking your car. 2 Euro per day per item for wifi. Checking in hidden costs for umbrellas at the pool and beach, type of resort tax even if you did not use it.
Positive: Enjoyed the aqua gym. Nice beach. The new fridge the they brought us did actually work.
Never again, worst hotel ever, a waste of money.

Room Tip: Avoid the standard rooms, if you have to choose standard choose 103, avoid 301 and 112

We visited Sicily in October and we found this hotel during our trip. We booked for 1 night but then we decided to stay longer for other 2 days. It was a pleasure to stay there. All the staff is very friendly and helpfull. The receptionist are always smiling and they gave us a beautiful room with balcony and seaview on the 3rd floor. Amazing! We had a B&b package, the breakfast was very good. If you are in the nearby i suggest you to go.

I have been with my wife at the hotel baia d'oro in Licata(AG).
we stayed seven days with all inclusive where at the reception the very well and very available mission Ilaria has released the orange bracelets with which from 10 am to 10 pm we could take advantage of all drinks (Coca cola, beer and wine).
The food was very good and the waiters were cordial and professional
always ready to take care of the customer.
Inside the hotel You can use the pool and you have the possibility of having your personal parasol to go to the Sea bath.
That says a unscribable stay with everything you need to detach the plug and shout the world that you are on holiday!!
Thank you baia d'oro hotel and thanks everything you staff!

Totally regretting the long drive to find this very basic hotel .... I wonder how they got 4 stars .... never heard of having to get my own beach towel in a 4 star hotel ... also I’ve never been to a hotel where the check-in is at 16:00 and the checkout at 10:00 .... it’s supposed to be a beach hotel yet I each (guest) is charged 7 euros per day to use the pool and the beach, umbrellas ... WiFi is not free as well .. didn’t try the breakfast yet but not expecting a big deal .. we have an Arabic saying (الربيع من فم الباب يبان) meaning you can tell it’s spring once you step out of the door

The hotel is located very nice, but thats it.

Verry bad drinks, poor choice of food thats mostly served cold. ( temperature should be around the 70° when you follow hygienic code).

The beer at the pool bar is okay. Longdrinks are very weak if managers are around.

Pizza at the pool bar is the best food in the Hotel.

Rooms in the main building are not cooled proper because the airco is old and temperature can only be changed by the staff at the reception. Our room was close to 30° the first night.

Bungalows got new airconditioning and they are renovated but very noisy. Also they are close to the public beach clubs (orange umbrellas) and they pump real hard dance music most of the time.

The Hotel is not as clean as a Hotel should be. (See pictures)

Animation team is working hard to give you a good time, just like the rest of the staff but that is obviously not supported by the managers /owners.

No access to the beach at night. So if you wake up around 4 in the morning because of the heat in your room, you can't take a walk on the beach.

About the food again....
The dishes are good seasoned, but often to cold and over or under cooked.
We had in one week, twice a real Italian appetizer. Rest of the time, the appetizers where just leftovers with some garnish.

Also the timetable of food service is a joke.
Breakfast ends at 9:30h

Lunch (at buffetrestaurant and poolbar @the same time) from 12:30 till 14:30h

Dinner (also served like lunch at the same time) from 19:30 till 21:00h

Outside of this times there is no food in the Hotel.

You can "upgrade" yourself to drink free till 00:00 instead of 22:00 for 5€ p.p./p.d.
We did it because we can't sleep early, but you should skip it and go to sleep earlier if you can.

To us this place felt more like a prison and not a Hotel so they get the lowest rating ever from me at TripAdvisor.

Please check my other reviews so you can see i always review fair...
