We stayed here for a night in January 2015, because we wanted somewhere close to Gulf Harbour, from where we were to take a boat across to Tiritiri Matangi island the following morning. We arrived quite late, but this wasn't a problem for our host, Carolyn, who checked us in and made us feel really at home, with a complimentary bottle of wine, basket of food and a relaxed and friendly manner that we encountered so often among New Zealanders. While the bedroom was a little small, guests have free use of the lounge and veranda, and so overall you have plenty of space. Breakfast, cooked by Carolyn's husband Arnold, was served on the veranda with a view of Manly Bay, and was delicious. If you need a place to stay in Whangaparaoa, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Bayview.
