You will love this cafe, compact and cosy with a lovely shop attached, we ate here two mornings in a row as it is the very best food around. Great friendly service and nothing that they cannot do for you.

Coffee is good as are the savouries but very expensive for soggy pastry as heated in microwave... not much filling either. Very Small blackboard menu. Hard to find cafe on side street. Owner I assume on coffee machine not very friendly. He was disgusted at having to hand over 4 ( very small ) sugar sachets for coffee. Shame as this place was recommended and not what I had imagined at all. Would not recommend.

A local suggested we come here for lunch. Off the beaten track and the outside looks very unassuming. You have to walk through the fishing shop to the cafe at the rear which is very small.
Once there the eyes are just boggling at the delectable pastries and selection of food. So much choice and it all looks fabulous.
I had a chicken bacon and leek pie that was the best pie I have ever had! So good I bought another to take home. The pastry was flaky and light and just melted in the mouth.
Credit to the 2 ladies running it. Obviously talented pastry chefs. This is my only place to stop in Turangi now.
Very highly rated.
