“A wonderful location to see in the new year”
Reviewed 7 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We spent 3 wonderful days at Chisel Barn, seeing in the new year. The barn is as lovely as it looks in the pictures, decorated to a high standard, and well equipped. Locally there are lots of short walks you can do into neighbouring villages, meaning that we didn't leave the local area at all. The kitchen is really well equipped, and we were able to easily cook for our large group each day. The owners were very friendly, and none of our questions were too much bother.

One tip...if you like to sleep in late like us you can 'boost' the hot water on the panel at the back of the airing cupboard, as the hot water switches off at around 11am.

“WONDERFUL ESCAPE,STUNNING COUNTRYSIDE”
Reviewed 11 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Six of us stayed here and had a fantastic time. The accomodation was superb, built and decorated to a very high standard.
Extremely well equipped kitchen , could want for no more.
The countryside was spectacular for walking or just relaxing and with pubs and restaurants in the near vicinity,no need to go hungry.
The only minor complaints are ,the difficulty to find in the dark,(no signs anywhere)and the lack of mirrors, just one in the bathroom and the main bedroom, especially for the female members of the group. These are such a minor complaints though because everything here is wonderful.

“Idyllic Dorset getaway for family & friends”

We had a wonderful stay at Chisel Barn recently. Not only is it located in the most beautiful part of Dorset, but the barn itself is beautifully decorated, and was extremely comfortable for the six of us. It has everything you need for a self-catered weekend/holiday and I would definitely go back again!

“A luxurious retreat in a splended corner of Hardy country”
Reviewed 3 August 2013 for a stay in June 2013

I spent a fantastic few days here in June 2013. The weather was magnificent, which certainly helped matters. Far from major towns and cities, this property is in a gorgeous part of Dorset I had not had the pleasure to visit before. The gently rolling countryside features many gems in walking distance - a river to swim in, big fields to play ball games in or just have a picnic, and an impressive fort.

The accommodation itself is outstanding. The beds are large and comfortable, and the kitchen exceptionally spacious and well equipped. It includes a large TV and wi-fi access. We cooked several meals for large groups here, and enjoyed eating them both inside and outside.

I would highly recommend this location to groups of friends, as well as families with children. It is a very, very nice property in an idyllic corner of England.

“Marvellous walks and stunning countryside”
Reviewed 10 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

The scenery is absolutely beautiful around here. The view from the top of the Iron Age forts is breathtaking and the rolling hills coupled with winding streams make for a great walks.
The property itself is in great knick and has a nice, modern, understated appeal, looking out over a lake and field of sheep in the distance. The beds were also so comfortable!
All this, helped along by a fantastic bout of weather made for a truly memorable getaway.
