I thought I had placed a review about this pub, but I can't see it anywhere, so I can't have.
We were the first booked customers for dinner after James and Desi took over and we have been returning ever since. The atmosphere is the pub is really friendly and nobody could be more welcoming than Desi. Every time we eat there, it is lovely. Good food at sensible prices and cooked to a very high standard. We have been for lunch and dinner numerous times and I think we have tried every new dish on the menu, as they appeared,. We have not been disappointed. The latest addition to the menu, Tempura Soft-shelled Crab Burger is a must try. James is a superb chef and is not afraid to try new things, which is great to see. Oh, and you must try the desserts (puddings in my terms) - sublime!
Anyone who is in the area, do try the Baker Arms. It is worth it.

We heard that new landlords had taken over and were keen to investigate. The pub was very quiet on this Thursday, but the welcome and service were excellent. Our supper was delicious, freshly prepared and served up very quickly.

All of this was brilliant. On the slightly minus side, we were disappointed that the wood burner was not lit, as that makes such a difference to the atmosphere in a pub. To be really honest, we felt that the décor could be spruced up, nothing fancy, just made a little brighter and perhaps a bit more modern.

Having said that, the food and service are for us the two most important aspects, and both were top notch. In the words of Arni, "We'll be back!"
