I have just spent the weekend here with the family and a friend who accompanied us. He had a single room and he has already listed a selection of complaints, like having a small room with no working lights, no desk and the only electric socket being next to the main door which made working on his computer very difficult.
As for us, we stayed in a family room, which comprised of two single beds put together to make a double and a double sofa bed. There was a desk and plenty of sockets and a balcony. However, although there was an electric hob and a microwave, there was no crockery, no cups and no tea or coffee making facilities.
The bathroom was an ample size, but the shower was one of the worst we have experienced. It comprised one of those overhead attachments love a bath, which was not powerful and the flow was restricted to a user having to press right up against a wall to have a decent wash. If there had been more power to the shower, it would have made standing in such a position obsolete.
Our balcony view consisted of looking towards the previous hotel we have used with beautiful views of the many smoking stacks of the Tata Steel Works. AS for parking, it is available but guests have to pay 7.5 Euros for the privilege. Not very welcoming in my view.
On a positive note, the breakfasts were OK, although on the last morning the coffee machine packed up and we were unable to get hot drinks.
In summary, the hotel was overpriced and definitely not value for money. We have stayed in better places than this locally and if this is the only choice next year we would prefer to stay in another town.
