Oke, this is a hotel that has a 50/50 chance that your stay is going to be either great or bad. i gave this hotel 1 star extra because of the personal and as always the people from the front desk execute there jobs really great. 👌🏽

And for the hotel im just going to keep it short because there are many 1 or 2 star reviews on here and other websites with exactly the same or more complaints from paying visitors who has bin treated the same or there stay has bin the no matter what room you stay in.

Most people and me go to relax. A get a way trip and you pay a lot and surely it can happen that things don’t go as flawless a other times. Thats life in general but you expect an apology (thats quite normal.) or an compensation or discount in some cases. But don’t get your hopes on that.

My cons :

- The noise ; too much noise. Its like someone is moving when they are cleaning the rooms upstairs and “living” in the room or using the bubble bad are also things you can hear. I have a memo with hearable noise from upstairs and early in the morning 6 a 7 am i think you hear alot of metal clinging and people talking outside because of construction. 😣 (Not for my whole stay tho.)

- The food ; you always get fries with you food most of the time but it looks like they have bin slaying out for a while and when they need to be served they get thrown in the oil or maybe reheated and thats is when you order roomservice. I don’t know eating in the dining room.

- The room temperature ; the ac is working right and or its getting either to hot or to cold. Im someone who like the cold weather so i wanted to turn the airco on because it was getting way to warm in the room because of the hot water from the bubble bad i took. Turning it on and expecting cold air i only felt warm air due to that i needed to open up the door because it was 29 celsius in the room. I left the door open for 30 maybe 40 min. (Didn’t do much, i could have opened the front door also but i didn’t because i thought : what if someone just walked in? 🤔 (and im by myself) 😑 and 10 minutes after that a man who was a little intoxicated walked into my room.) i handled it but thats what you can get when you leave the door open. 🙄

- The Room ; overall is good but i cant wrap my mind around the fact that 3 people from the hotel told me 4, yes 4 different things about not having a toilet brush in the room. 🤔 i was really sick and nosies and used the toilet a lot and to not have a toilet brush in the room because its not hygienic/they forgot/the construction workers forgot to place the stand/ its in general that no hotel has toilet brushes in there rooms? 😕 plus it can take a day or 1/2 before your towels and toilet paper arrive. Always nice when your sick. 🙄

And the mattress is maybe even dirtier then the toilet brush. 🤢 i saw the huge stain after i wanted to slide the mattresses back together after how many time. So don’t lay the middle!

Ow and when you get a call back after you filed a complaint. You don’t even have to answer because they are going to confirm you complaint and they are not going to do anything about it. €850 down the drain. Thank you for that wonderfull stay. I went home exhausted! The best relaxing time ever. 😒

But other then that the room is oke. They just need to make it sound proof and fix the ac.

This hotel is located in the country side close to the beach. Rooms are very nice and refurbished. Swimmingpool big but most of the day used by swimming school😕. Restaurant has very good food and nice stsff what you cant tell from the frontoffice😈. Breakfast was not what i am used to have in other van der valk hotels. Was on the first floor and not much choice even no fried eggs!!

We were in Holland visiting family and stayed at the Van Der Valk for three nights.

I can thoroughly recommend this hotel - clean, spacious, luxurious. My children especially loved the pool and gym facilities.

We will be coming back!
Thank you!

When I was booking on Tripadvisor, I was supposed to get breakfast included. However once van der valk sent me their own confirmation email there was no breakfast included and when I was at the hotel they told me at check in that Breakfast IS included. Next morning when walking into the breakfast room the lady told me my name was not on the list but told me to go ahead and start eating. Half way through eating, infront of all the other guests they asked me to pay at the reception.

Also, I forgot my UK extension plug and expected them to have one to borrow or one already in the room. However I was charged 7.5euros for the most cheap looking charger in a plastic clear packet and a van der velk sticker. If your going to rip me of atleast give me something branded or high quality.

Thank god the room was clean and tidy otherwise would of been a nightmare trip

I recently attended a conference in Alkmaar, NL just north of Amsterdam and we stayed in the Van der Valk Hotel Akersloot/A9. It was excellent in every way. The obvious reasons are that the facility is very well equipped and maintained, and the staff is always professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Some of the highlights include the excellent food and beverages. The breakfast buffet with a massive selection of fresh, high quality options and superb coffee machines is my personal favorite, but they also have a very nice menu for lunch and dinner Service by staff throughout the hotel is always prompt and proficient. The facility is well appointed from the lobby to the rooms. They have a wonderful bar, multiple dining areas and even a small pastry counter. The meeting rooms we used were very well situated with Audio/Visual needs, power outlets, comfortable seating and ample food and beverage catering. The gym and pool/sauna/hot tub were fantastic. The rooms are also excellent with exquisite bathroom including separate tub and shower and towel warmer, TV and workspace, plenty of power outlets, large bed, ample closets, coffee/tea selections, quality toiletries and other details that are too many to list. Some rooms also offer balconies with seating and courtyard view. Overall it is the value of the stay that is most appreciated. Where some hotels charge luxury rates and give you ostentatious gilded decoor like fountains in the lobby which then give way to pealing wallpaper and faded carpets in the room, the Van der Valk brand and especially the Akersloot property focus on practical luxury investing in the customer experience only where and everywhere it matters. They are truly a great representation of the traditional Dutch trait of pragmatic diligence and exceptional quality.

Room tip: Get the breakfast package and try to score a balcony room.

Great hotel near Alkmaar, Haarlem and Amsterdam. The rooms were big and comfort. Great bathroom. Also the breakfast was really good and a lot of choices. Tip; you can only reach this hotel by car! Its near the highway (A9) but you won't hear anything of it.
