We were lucky to find a clear sunny window after a day of torrential rain, booked the 90 minute heli flight to Mt. Cook for $400 pP - and enjoyed a breathtaking experience including a landing on a snowfield opposite Mt. Cook. If you fail to be overwhelmed by the scenery you watch during this flight I don't know what can move you. All the staff and the pilots were also very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Top recommendation!

We just popped in on the off chance of getting a flight and were told we needed a minimum number of people. Ada took our number and promised to call if any more people wanted the same trip. She called us about 2 hours later and we had the pleasure of the company of another couple from England for our flight.

The flight was spectacular, great commentary from the pilot and a 10-15 minute stop in the snow within view of mount Cook

Would highly recommend his company if you are thinking of taking a flight, lovely friendly helpful people.

Thanks folks

There were stunning views of the mountains and lakes. A professional team and best pilot ever, Aaron. A great time, definitely recommend.

I chose the Mount Cook Safari flight, duration approximately 50 minutes, because I wanted the landing on snow. $465 and worth every cent to me because this was bucket list territory. The aircraft making our flight took five passengers, one upfront with the pilot, and four across the back.Undoubtably, it helped that on the day the weather was perfect. Aaron, our pilot, was professional, friendly, and made a very good commentary about the mountain areas as we flew over them. He warned us when it would be a little bumpy coming up, and how long to expect to last. He made sure that the passengers in the back seat got an opportunity to see everything and take photographs. We were able to cross the main divide, and landed on Fox Glacier. There had been snow overnight, and we walked in about 10 inches, which is not easy! Aaron took photographs for everyone.
Tekapo Helicopters does not use the commercial airfield, but has its own headquarters outside of the town. On the day, we had to make our own way there, because the van they normally use was not available.
