We just enjoyed 2 nights stay at Dawson Falls. It is a very comfortable and cozy place to stay. Our room had a 4 poster bed with lovely dark wood furniture. An en-suite bathroom had a claw foot bath and there was a seperate loo with basin. The bed warmers!!! OMG I have never been to a hotel with a bed warmer, they were brilliant. Service was excellent, Donna was the manager the first night, she could not do enough for us. Food is excellent. Breakfast is simple with a choice of cereals together with toast, cheese and ham & fruit. Evening meal was lovely, there are 2 or 3 choices for each course. Guests can sit down in a log fire warmed lounge and enjoy the view of Taranaki. It was a lovely stay. If we are in the area again I would definatley stay,

Room Tip: Enjoy relaxing without being pestered by outside forces.

We were looking for somewhere different to stay and Dawson Falls Mountain Lodge meets the criteria. It’s a little quirky and eclectic, and thankfully there are still places like this, such character and charm. All of that is set amid a simply stunning backdrop of Mt. Taranaki with great walks to Dawson Falls and surrounds. We highly recommend the Dinner, Bed & Breakfast option with the rooms as the three course meals are wholesome and very tasty, Chrissie’s feijoa and pear shortcake was amazing.

All the team were so accommodating and friendly – thank you Kyla, Donna and Chrissie! It turned out to be a very special stay for us made more memorable by your great hospitality. We’ll definitely be back and look forward to staying in the Honeymoon suite.

Room Tip: The original Swiss rooms look so cool

Located in an amazing setting within the Egmont National Park. We had one of the older (small but comfortable) Swiss-inspired rooms which was quaint and a bit quirky, with a priceless view from the alcove of Fantham's Peak and Mt Taranaki. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the 3-course meal was excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the "Swiss-style rooms", renovated in (I think) the 70's, with hand-carved detailing and quaintly decorated.

Great location for Taranaki mountain walks and stunning views. Walk out the door and into the bush. There are a wide range of rooms, we stayed in the Mountain View room and it was perfect. The place is quirky in the style of an old Swiss chalet, hosts are friendly and helpful, lovely lounge and fireplace. We had a delicious dinner and they were happy to cater for vegetarians. Only stayed one night but it was perfect.

Marvellous site in the middle of Mt Egmont national park. Very close to Dawson Falls itself and loads of other great walks and sights. The accommodation is slightly Olde Worlde but the place is very clean and comfortable with very helpful staff. Food in the restaurant pretty good.
