We were booked in for two nights at the hotel and were very grateful to find our very large room in darkness with shutters closed and air conditioning on when we arrived. We switched on the fan and relaxed in the cool atmosphere and were surprised by the slightly Gothic appearance of the decor - huge ceilings, massive dark oak cupboard, remains of an antique heating system - great stuff. The bathroom on the other was very modern with a walk in shower in which you could have had a party. A very comfortable, quiet and clean room.
Breakfast was surprisingly poor - the coffee was not good - and it all seemed rather chaotic compared to the other hotels we stayed at on our trip.
The buildings and grounds were very pleasant and we had a nice time drinking beer on the front lawn with friends, slowly moving back to avoid the harsh sunlight as the day wore on.
The pool was quite a way down the gardens and not easily accessible for those with leg injuries (the wife).
Overall a pleasant stay in a beautiful part of Italy.More
