A lovely safe property in a gorgeous part of Italy - the first time for all of us in Cilento & what a fantastic week. Villa Liberti is the perfect base to explore up and down the coast & inland: we got as far south as Pioppi and up to Paestum with its amazing temples. Castellabate on the hill is worth a visit for the narrow Medieval streets and incredible views.
The apartment we stayed in was mostly well provided - could have done with a few more kitchen items but Antonella & Massimo were very helpful and charming hosts. The best bit of our lodgings was the terrace which was spacious enough for 5 of us to eat in style with views of Castellabate. The shower was a little tight for space but plenty of hot water! Wifi did work for my iPod-mad 14 year old on the terrace although he occasionally had to station himself at the top of the stairs...
We all enjoyed time by the pool which was clean and had plenty of sun beds. Table tennis was a bit more challenging when windy & the net needed some running repairs!
10 minute walk to the lovely harbour (we did a fantastic boat trip to Punta Licosa one day, €60 for 5 of us), we ate at Domaro & Ristorante K, the former good value pizza restaurant (& a lovely bottle of Taurasi 2007 for a mere €22) and the latter voted our best meal out in the whole holiday - excellent sea food in particular.
For a good sandy beach we recommend the short drive south to Ogliastro, clean & good for swimming in the Med.
In summary a great place to stay with a growing family of 3 boys.
We stayed here last year for 1 week in the Yellow room and we came back again this year to stay in the same room for 2 weeks. Our friends joined us in the Blue room and we had 2 weeks of bliss in a wonderful setting with a beautiful house and garden and fabulous pool. It is a great location and only 2 mins walk to local supermarket and 10 mins walk to the town with with a particularly lovely restaurant (Ristorante K). The owners Antonella and Massismo were very friendly and looked after us very ably helped by a lovely lady Melina who brought our breakfast every morning with a smile. I walked every morning before breakfast and there are a number of lovely 5-8 km walks in the vicinity of the B&B. They have 4 x B&B rooms and 4 x apartments so it is a fantastic location for a family gathering or a number of friends families coming together but still having their own space. There is a lovely Golden Retriever called Joyoux who is a delight in their private garden also and he just adores children. We will be back again in the future.

This villa is in a very nice setting just outside the quiet village of St Marco di Castellabate, about 10 minutes walk to the centre. We had a few issues regarding some of the equipment in the apartment which we brought to the owners' attention however these were resolved immediately. The owners, Antonella and Massimo, who live in a ground floor apartment, are very nice and one evening provided a couple of local speciality dishes free of charge for us to try as a welcome. You can also help yourself to as many lemons as you can use which are scattered all over the gardens!
Our bedroom in the 'Orange' apartment was light, airy, cool and comfortable.
The pool area is well equipped with plenty of sunbeds for all the residents of the apartments and is an attractiive facility within the property. The website pictures do show an 'Al Fresco' lounge area however this did not seem to be available for guest use.
There is a medium size supermarket about 100 metres away and an air conditioned 'Pastcerria' next door which sells fresh bread, ice cream, pizza slices, beer and wine to eat in or take away, which is very popular. About 5 minutes beyond St Marco is St Maria di Castellabate which is livelier again with plently of bars and restaurants available and comes to life after 9pm. The area is dominated by the town of Castellabate which is a steep climb on foot, by car or bus however the views from the town are stunning, overlooking the whole Cilento Valley and the sea.
Although the owners say a car is not necessary, it is useful to get the best out of the area, especially at night.
This villa provides a base for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of Italy.
