The ruin hochburg is amazingly open and natural. There is no entry fee. You can park in the farm opposite and then have to walk up a hill through an orchard. The ruin is perched on the top of a hill and waiting to be exprlored and enjoyed. Parents will want to be children as there are lots of places with big falls and also views. At weekends there is a small shop and possible wine and sausages, but otherwise dont expect tour guides shows or infomration.

It was very interesting to visit the ruins of this castle, that probably was very impressive in the past.
at the moment the ruins are in a stage of reconstruction which makes it a bit less attractive. I'm sure that when they will finish with the works it will be a lot more impressive (and possibly the entrance would not be free...)

It is well preserved, there are signs to explain what it was each place and the view is very nice! If you are passing by it is really worth it to stop for a visit!

I didn't know there is the big ruin that very close to me (im living in Freiburg), indeed it was the second biggest castle in Baden Wurtemberg. The left is walls with big windows but still impressive. Walking through the stone walls and imagining about people lived there hundred years ago, what happened on that days are great feelings. Plus, you have fantastic view to the below wine yards and wheat fields. Worth to spend 1 or 2 hours!
