Description: The Rock Restaurant, in Michamvi Pingwe on Zanzibar Island, is an extraordinary restaurant, located in a unique position, on a rock in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The contrast of the unspoiled natural setting, down played decor and design vs the international standard food preparation and presentation is as novel and rewarding as its location. Serving up to 14 tables, all facing a wonderful terrace on the Ocean, the restaurant is connected to the mainland by boat, within high tide, and reachable by foot within low tide. It is also easy reachable by sea if coming by boat from an excursion. Perfect for a romantic dinner for two, or for a memorable evening with friends or family, it is open for lunch and dinner and is available to be reserved for small groups and ceremonies. The Rock kitchen offers a superlative fresh seafood menu, including vegetarian plates and a kid's menu the service is informal but accurate and elegant.

It's an magical place definately worth the drive from stone town . It's set on a stunning beach - incredible colours and my king fish carpaccio with spicy coconut was fab and tartar with beetroot was good as well. Go

Went here for my husband's 60th surprise birthday. Had been planning for a long time and it didn't disappoint. Food was amazing!!! We had 2 in our party that didn't eat seafood and their meals were just as good as ours. Very Very impressed!!!

So worth the journey! Exceptional food, very generous portion sizes, strong cocktails and an utterly unique experience, from the boat trip to the view. Absolutely amazing! Get the seafood platter, and do your best to eat it all! Be sure to make an early booking so you can watch the sunset, and bring a cardigan/light jacket as it can get quite breezy.

The Rock has the most monsterous, delicious lobsters and prawns that I have ever seen. Food was absolutely tasty, almost the only place on this side of the island with proper cocktails...... very beautiful restaurant on the shore.....

Take a boat out at high tide or walk across the sand to this unique little restaurant off Zanzibar . Cocktails outside on the terrace whilst you chose from a menu of Italian and African fusion. Fresh seafood, pasta and gnocchi all served by candle light.
