A massive thank you from the Ashburton Rural Fire Force. We stayed on Friday 6th July. We had nothing but positive feed back from all our members both on the food and the accommodation. The staff were amazing and they did an outstanding job.

And to Madeline - thanks for putting up with all the emails back and forward. We got there in the end haha.

Thank you for all your help and a superb experience. Will definitely recommend to others.

Four of us covered a good range of the A'lacarte menu.
Dumplings, Scallops & smoked eel for starters and they were all fantastic. Beef, Salmon, Lamb Rack & Duck for mains - could fault a single thing.
Apple strudel & Salted caramel cheesecake for dessert - we were well and truly stuffed.
The meal was well paced so we didn't feel rushed through the courses.
We are never disappointed with this venue

This was our second visit to Stonechrubie and once again it was a great experience. Four of us dined. Entree's were scallops (widely praised by the three who had them) and dumplings for me. I prefer steamed dumplings and these had been finished in the pan which I should have checked on ordering - still they were nice. Mains were lamb racks and beef fillet. The lamb racks were generous and a hit. The beef (grain fed) was flavoursome but not as tender as I'd expected. Vegetable sides were lovely and there was no shortage of food. On to dessert and the dilemma was that everything looked good. We actually had six desserts between the four of us and they were fantastic. (Cheesecake/Apple Strudle/Ginger loaf/Brownie).
The staff were friendly and welcoming and added to a great evening. My four out of five would have been a five if the beef had met expectations.
We also stayed the night and the chalets were well priced and cosy. We will definitely return.

I organised with Madeline a Bistro Dinner for 25 people who were making their annual visit to Mt Somers staying in the Domain Camping Ground in their caravans. We arrived about 6.00pm for a 6.30pm reservation, and after a round of drinks the orders were taken. The dining staff were amazingly quick with the service, and the kitchen staff managed one of the fastest turn-around's of orders to diner I have experienced - especially considering the numbers involved. The food was to a very high standard, everyone in our group were very satisfied with their dining experience. Without a doubt we will be back, thoroughly recommend Stronecrubie as a dining venue!
