Lovely hotel set in a beautiful part of the Black Forest. Stayed a couple of nights as part of a motorcycle tour. Set dinner for half board very disappointing- bit like a school meal, but breakfast ok. Rooms comfortable and roomy - but wouldn't return due to food

Just only a few miles from Hornberg, you will find this hotel. With a terrific scenic view around the hotel, one of the great cuisine in these area, you will find your own pleasure here. Excellent place to stay.

I spent 2 nights at that hotel to visit Hornberg. The hotel is very well run ,and the staff were welcoming and professional .The breakfast was including all you can expect and the quality of food was excellent . The menu for dinner included many choices and was very tasty .The rooms were large and clean and the only drawback was the unavailability of a fan when I asked for it because of hot weather .The gardens around the hotel were lovely

LANDHAUS LAUBLE
Superb location in the middle of the Black Forest. Beautifully appointed hotel,

Room.
Wonderful large room with separate lounge area, really good en suite and our room had two terrace areas overlooking the grounds & lake. Sadly two single beds, with the wretched 'gap'. But beds comfortable.

Dining
The food was good, generous portions, I couldn't finish my dinner on two occasions. Restaurant overlooks the grounds & lake & we were fortunate enough to be seated with these views whilst staying here. On our return, we noted that the menu had note changed with only a few choices, so we had to repeat courses we had eaten previously on our way to Bavaria. I have to add that the food was nothing like the pictures shown on the website either. Perhaps a change of Chef? If so, then the website should be updated to reflect the very different food on offer.

Other Areas
At the front is a large covered patio area, seating around 60 people. It has glass sides & a canvas roof so sheltered from sun or rain. This is a nice place to sit & have a drink, but sadly as deemed 'Outside', many people smoked in here making it unpleasant for those of us who don't. There was not one occasion when we sat in there that we were subjected to smokers. Sadly there is no inside lounge to sit & enjoy a drink, so it's put-up with smokers or take the drink to your room. The hotel really needs a bar/lounge area which is non smoking. If you wanted to eat outside, we did on one evening as it was so hot inside, we again had to put-up with many people smoking whilst we ate our dinner.

Accessibility ♿
It has a lift through the restaurant so is accessible for wheelchair users. I manage with two sticks (MS) & the ground floor is all on the level. There are no ground floor rooms, as all rooms on 1st or 2nd floor.

Grounds.
Lake, chess, putting lovely views. Path around the lake, but you'll need either a strong helper or powered wheelchair as grounds fairly steep to access. Gravel is quite uneven and has large stones, so beware. It would be wonderful if the paths were tarmacked or laid with a smooth surface.

Really the only negatives concern the food shown on the website which is not the same as food served. Website pictures suggests 'fine dining' ........ whilst the food is absolutely fine, it is typical of German food, pork, noodles, veal etc. The smoking, was a real pain, sitting in the 'patio' area at the front, which has a canvas roof, but fixed sides is considered 'outside' so filled with many smokers. There wasn't anywhere else to sit for non-smokers, not even inside. Such a shame when it was warm and you wanted to enjoy a drink and dinner outside. Smokers don't seem to care if you are eating either and simply 'light-up' ignoring your feelings on the subject. Some people even came out of the hotel dining room to just smoke in this area. A real shame.

Location.
Superb location, but be warned it is located a few hundred metres back from a fairly busy 'tourist' road. It became quieter later on, but I think the owners should consider planting some trees in his grounds alongside the road to hide the road from the hotel and also reduce some traffic noise. It is not dreadful, but you do realise that it is there.

Staff & owners
Owners delightful & very friendly took time to mark a map for us to go & explore in our car as walking not an option for me. Staff all smiles & helpful, all seem to speak English, so our German not needed.

Accessibility (2)
There are no steps into the hotel and a lift is available through the restaurant so a wheelchair user could get to the rooms (which are all on 1st floor) and around the hotel dining room.

There is no Air Con, so I expect in the very height of summer it would be very hot. We slept with every window and door open. On our return visit, it was so warm we could not bear the dining room, so sat outside in the patio area.

Room tip: Upgrade your room and get a double aspect room overlooking the lake and grounds.

This hotel is a few miles from Hornberg in an excellent setting. The hotel is very well run, very good staff. The rooms are exceptional; ours, number 14, had a balcony on both outside walls. There is plenty of wardrobe/draw space, a comfy sofa, chairs, writing desk; the room was huge and the bed just the right softness. The bathroom is large with a walk in shower (brilliant). Very well maintained hotel. In 2017 there will be an extended terrace (eating area) with an indoor swimming pool under; the small lake is used for swimming at present. The food is excellent - very tasty - and the beer very good.

Room tip: Room 14 excellent!
