Hotel was fine with great views quite nice rooms and an excellent restaurant.

I would say the services on offer throughout the hotel reflect more of a 3.5 star rating all round rather than 4 star.
It has a very classic feel...sort of lost in the 1960’s in a nice sort of way. In fact would be quite charming if only the proprioters wife was. Unfortunately Her sour faced attitude spoilt it for us. She came across as one of those people who was simply waiting for the summer to be over and for all the customers to return back home..... Shame as most of the staff and her husband were quite smiley and very helpful.

I would suggest for the future that her husband does the summers and she does the winters as there are not so many customers to ignore in winter.

As a a confirmed remainder she made me start to warm towards Brexit.

A smile can change a persons day! She should try it.

Room Tip: 3rd floor 326

This is a classic hotel with view over the harbour. There is unfortunately a busy road before but they did their best for insonorisation. Some renovations have been made, some need further attention such as the balconies. The dining room is excellent with fine view. The half-board is very good. Prices well balanced. Sonja and her partner run this place now for several years. Can firmly recommend

Room Tip: The rooms with balcony.

We stayed at the Hotel Le Goyen for a week to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and couldn't fault it. The staff and proprietors are very helpful, friendly and informative with good English speaking skills. Nothing was too much trouble and guests are made to feel very welcome. Even the ladies who clean the rooms are lovely and do a splendid job. Our room was on the first floor with a beautiful view over the port and was spacious with a huge bed and good quality bed linen. Unusually we also had coffee and tea making facilities which is rare to find in France. The ensuite was modern and very clean with a large shower cubicle and fluffy towels and robes. This hotel is exceptionally quiet at night and we both enjoyed a week of undisturbed sleep, that's rare for us. During our stay the lift was out of service and the staff were very apologetic and offered to carry guests luggage to their rooms.
As is normal the breakfast is purely continental but this in no way can describe the breakfast at Le Goyen ! Everything you could wish for is provided, artisan breads, cheeses and honey with very fresh pastries and fruit. The best breakfast we've enjoyed in a French hotel by far. My husband was thrilled to have scrambled eggs each day and took full advantage of all the delicious food available. Copious hot drinks served at your table is a lovely personal touch which is sadly lacking these days. It is obvious that the staff and owners take a great deal of pride in their work and the comfort of their guests. We felt well cared for and valued. I can highly recommend this hotel and would return over and over again. Our whole experience was a joy and thank you very much all of you at Le Goyen for a remarkable and memorable week.

Old-style hotel and tradition focussed management, so there’s some old fashioned aspects to the infrastructures but nothing bad or wrong about this. Nice room with view on the river, good facilities, warm and quiet. Smiling and hospitable staff (I wrote staff).

The hotel is very comfortable. We had a very spacious 'Superior' room with sofa and armchair. These rooms also have a balcony just infront of the harbour. Lovely to sit and watch the fishing boats sailing in and out and unloading their catch.
Fantastic restaurant, great food, decor, atmosphere and also view of the harbour.
We had a fabulous two day stay. Thank you to all the staff, reception, chambermaids, waiting staff and chef - nothing was too much trouble and made our stay just perfect. We will return later this year.
