We decided to go back to this hotel, bringing along with us a group of friends: it lies in a perfectly quiet location amidts the wood, on the sides of a hill, close to the small town of Hermagor, 30 minutes from the skiruns in Nassfeld-Pramollo. Typical Austrian country atmosphere, wood and candlelight, warm inside also thanks to the kindness of the owners, who surrounded us with any kind of attention. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, ask for those on the 3rd floor, looking to the valley. The half pension includes a very rich buffet breakfast, with home made jams and applejuice, ham, cheese, vegetables, fresh fruit, fruit salad, different kinds of bread; in the afternoon, at 4 pm, there's always a sort of little brunch with more than one choice (only one day there was an aspic - in addition to some cakes - as only choice ); the evening menu includes an appetizer, the soup of the day, one of 3 main courses you can choose from every morning, dessert, salad buffet. Everybody of the hotel personnel was incredibly nice and kind. Apart from one young waitress, who unfortunately seemed not to understand any language at all, not even German; we had to repeat each question several times ( in German), and she had almost no reaction and was very awkward in her activities.
We also enjoyed the "Sauna area", clean, relaxing, with different teas available. If we should give some suggestions, we have only two (apart from the waitress.. ): improve the capability to speak English ( and Italian could help ) and add to the TV channels also some Italian channel. For the rest, everything was wonderful,

Room Tip: Rooms on 3rd floor, facing the valley

Very nice location and views. On the other hand jt is far from ski slopes so you need to use their skibus (slow and inconvenient) or car. Hotel staff was perfect, food was good, spa small but sufficient. It is sometimes advertised as 4 star hotel on booking websites - but it is very good 3 star. It is not as expensive so it is great deal.

Close to the Nassfeld area, famous for its skiing circuits, you find this delicious hotel, managed by a passionate, kind family whose members really do everything to make you feel at ease and help you if you have problems ( my husband got a flu on the very day of his arrival, and they were so helpful, up to bringing my at night, by car, to find a pharmacy ).
The hotel lies on top of a hill, alone in a relaxing nature; from there you have a magnificent view of the whole Gailtal valley.
The structure is constantly being renovated, though maintaing its warm Austrian taste; a Spa offers sauna, steam bathes and other amenities, relax room, with herbal teas for rehydrating.
Food is also the best; typical local dishes with some international flare ( excellent Wienerschnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat ): you have two starters, then you can choose between 3 main courses, after that there's a rich salad buffet, and the dessert, all home made.
Breakfast is rich in choices as well.
A lot of walks and tracks for those who don't ski lie directly in front of the hotel,
Rooms are big and comfortable, and very quiet.

Room Tip: Third floor, panorama view

This hotel has friendly staff and a beautiful view. The road to get there was a bit treacherous, and getting out when the ski bus was on its way up was an adventure. The room was clean and well appointed. The food was a disappointment - rather than serving authentic Austrian or Italian fare, the kitchen adapted the food for the Everyman, with mixed results. The wellness centre was nice, but there was no effort to restock water after the pre-dinner rush.

Room Tip: We had the best room with different views of the mountains.

Arrived here last night with my wive and two young kids. Temperature was high, but there was no airconditioning and no fan. Priving was per person in stead of per room. Shower was terrible, hot and warm water was almost at the same time. No soap in the dispenser. Wifi at €4 per hour! Would never stay here again. The panaroma view was awesome.
