We stayed for one night as we were visiting the Spring pools with friends. The motel is convenient, well appointed and very comfortable. I would certainly recommendation it to anyone visiting. Now the Trip Advisor website is asking me to say more but I don’t know what else to say!!!!

Planned stop over for the night travelling between Christchurch and Nelson. Super 5☆ motel rub by Sally and Alan. We had a ground floor studio with parking right outside. It was an unseasonal wet and cold 9C couple of days. However, heating had been put on, umbrellas provided and towels from the laundry for use at the Hot Springs. Also towels on the day of checkout. Please remember to return before leaving Hammer.
Room had everything you needed.

We always return to Sally and Alan at The Settlers who are magic hosts.
Settlers is a well established motel with well appointed units away from noisy roads.
Great bedding and good kitchenware.
Always clean and tidy, parking outside unit.

This is the second time I have stayed here. The owners are super-friendly and make you feel very welcome. The rooms are spotless and provide for everything you need. My only comment is the decor is probably a bit dated now.

The decor is in keeping with the original "Settlers" Theme with hand made wooden furniture etc and we are reluctant to modernise it too much as that would take away our point of difference. We have an ongoing maintenance / enhancement programme which does address some of the more dated features. Thanks again for taking the time we do appreciate your comments.

I've stayed at the Settlers Motel a few times and I'm always really impressed. Service with a great attitude, fantastic rooms, facilities and location and always accommodating when I want to park my bike outside the room. Only great things to say about Alan and Sally (and Jill). I highly recommend and I travel a lot!
