We had a Grabone special for two nights and chose a Studio with Garden View. Sadly our part of the garden was in need of a tidy up to say the least. Comfortable bed and nice to have housekeeping visit and restock on our 2nd day. Breakfast serve was lacking. The staff were pleasant but didn’t appear to have any system. When the food did arrive it was good, however, could not understand the lukewarm coffee. Reception staff were professional and helpful at all times.
Biggest upside of this hotel is its location, loved being able to park the car and walk everywhere.

Comfortable room and cosy bed. Lovely outlook onto the park-like grounds. Super to walk around the gardens. Very helpful and friendly staff in the main part of the hotel and also in the restaurant. Location of hotel perfect for access to the many attractions of Hanmer.

The hotel staff were very helpful regarding service for our workshop - nice morning and afternoon teas, good wifi, helpful with simple logistics, balcony off the workshop room was convenient for short breaks. (Outdoor furniture needs replacement though.)
Peaceful, convenient location with lovely leafy outlook.

Room tip: all rooms have nice views but those overlooking the garden at the rear are the nicest.

After a hectic journey ww were looking forward to some peaceful r and r good food and company..this amazing hotel met our expectations and more! The charm of the surroundings.. down to the Original critall windows.. most likely imported and at the time were the height of fashion!.. the room was spacious, furnished in 1930s period fashion and tge bed extremely comfortable Like any great spa resort... orientated for the sun.. mountain views and the fresh air from the beautifully laid out gardens. Not only the accommodation I feel is 5 star.. but the lobby and open guest areas nd restaurant are warm, charming and welcoming The well displayed history gives a feeling of standing still in time and genial staff ensured a true Souh Island welcome. The restaurant...what more can I say exceptional. The Wonderful Italian chefccirculated around the tables asking for feedback on the meal.. hevensured each guest was listened to and passionately explained how the dishes they had enjoyed had been inspired and developed for freshness..balanced flavours and presentation. Totally blown away by this.. very few restaurant chefs still follow this way of including guests in their research and development. Breakfast die to Covid restrictions was interesting.. however the staff went out of their way to ensure I was catered for on my healthy eating regime.. in all 12 out of 10..highly recommend!
