We stayed at Crabclaw Cottage for Feb half term. The cottage is quaint with a lovely wood burner, good kitchen space and a breakfast bar to eat at with enough room for 3 people, the kitchen has all mod cons, there were plenty of clean towels and bed linen supplied. The bedrooms are comfortable as is the rest of the cottage. The stairs are on the steep side with low head room.
The only tiny negative is that the toilet and shower are at the back of the property on the ground floor, this was a bit of a long haul if you needed the toilet during the night, however as this is a very old property it is to be expected.
The owners of the cottage left us some milk, bread, wine and biscuits for our arrival we also found basic store cupboard ingredients and plenty of wood, kindle and firelighters for the fire.
Nearby there are lots of eating places, resturants and shops. For those that are staying a while there is a large Tesco at Newton Abbot or Sainsburys at Dawlish, the cottage is literally 20 walking paces to the waters edge. There is no allocated parking so we obtained a weekly parking ticket from Teignmouth Borough Council for a reasonable rate and parked in the car park nearby which due to the time of year had plenty of spaces. This is a great location and is central to local places of interest, eg Torquay, Dawlish, Dartmouth, Paignton etc. I can also recommend a trip to Babbacombe Cliff Lift, would also suggest Sheldon and the smugglers tunnel and beach.
Before we went we received excellent communication from the owners and they also rang to check everything was ok during our stay.
