Stayed in the family room (206) not facing the sea ( as they were all booked), the room overlooks the car park and road, not garden as described by hotel. the rooms are ok, but small and bit basic, no kettle, childrens beds are fold outs parked right alongside the parental bed. The beach around the hotel is wonderful and restaurants are ok. The grounds of the hotel are a mess.

We stayed in Room 206, a "family" room which had two rollaway beds for our son.

The other people we were travelling with had room 205. Lovely view of waves crashing on rocks just below. Great to sit on balcony to chill out.

206 also had a balcony(it was bigger) but the view was of the mountain and the road.

Room 205-only negative thing is that you can see your neighbour from the balcony.

They Provide shower gels, shampoo conditioner, soap and hairdryer. There was no tissue paper. There was no CNN or cnbc as well. They did have bbc.

Both rooms were comfy, with individually controlled heating/AC

Breakfast was 12 euros. the only " warm food" was eggs(DIY- there was boiling water and you put the eggs in yourself. It was a small continental breakfast buffetspread- cheese, ham, croissants, chocolate croissant, bun, jams, cereal, yoghurt.

They had two places for dinner. We went to the one that was more casual. It had a limited menu, comprising mainly pizzas. Burger was 13 euros. Lots of fries. But the meat wasn't fantastic.

Selling point: Lovely view. On the beach. Chic hotel.

Hotel Abbartello is a chic updated designer hotel directly in the water's edge. Enjoy a walk down the private beach to discover the boulders that characterize the coastline here. Then follow with a relaxing dip in the sea and some sunbathing in the warm sand. Ahhh. We loved returning to the gorgeous room through the scented designer lobby. The views from our room were spectacular and the room itself was spacious, spotless, and completely modernized. The terrace, accessed by floor to ceiling sliding glass doors, was huge. It made for a perfect place to relax and watch the sunset with snacks and cocktails. The breakfast in the outdoor restaurant was abundant with choices, hot, fresh, and delicious. The breathtaking views over morning coffee were the perfect start to our day. This place was a great discovery and although there are less costly options, it was worth every dime to stay here. HIGHLY recommended as an alternative to hotels on the beaten path.

We stayed in one of the new rooms (tradition) with a huge terrace and seeingly right on the waters edge (but if you look down there are a couple of metres between you and the sea!). Spacious room, good furnishings, very comfortable. The hotel has 2 restaurants, a 'cheap-and-cheerful pizza kind of place and a more upmarket restaurant. We tried both, both were acceptable. There is a beach right by the hotel (as you would expect). The beach has quite a steep drop off so at some states of the tide and if the water is rough it's a bit spooky, that's how it was the day we arrived, but the sea calmed down and everything became much more user friendly. The hotel is part of a complex which includes bunglows, camping etc but this is the 'posh' bit and the quality of the reception area etc shows it. Parking provided - but it gets busy so you can't always park in the shade. We would return.

Room Tip: We stayed in a stndard room (tradition) which was excellent. There are vip rooms on the first floor.
