This restaurant has been around and serving the same dishes since 1950. The food is ok to very good but be warned order half what you think you need. If you don't the cost will be high and you will regret it.

The asparagus Jun season is delicious with quite generous helpings, enough to feed four. The polenta and cheese is a house speciality, which again,is far too big for one person. And the rabbit is enough for two people. Very good wines but will accelerate the cost of the meal.

If you follow my advice you will not be disappointed otherwise you will feel you have poor value for the money spent.

We had a delicious lunch but the cost should have been €80 for four not €160. We simply ordered too much food.

This was our fault and not the restaurant.

So be warned. A very good choice for a relaxed lunch with magnificent lake view in a traditional rustic charming family restaurant became a very expensive one for the quantity we ordered.

Thank Ian S

A winding road will lead you to this family-run "hunting lodge" style restaurant overlooking the scenic Lake Como. Nestled on the hill, you are secured for a solid and elevated dinner, feasting on a hearty meat stew, a brilliantly grilled steak and potatoes that defy description. The owner and his compatriots care about your meal and your experience; they were so gracious as my hubby practiced his new Italian language skills, and so warm to spend time talking with us.

Our party of 10 made last minute reservations at La Fagurida, and we are so happy that we did! The restuarant is high on a hill, in a little renovated house with an amaing view of the lake. Upon entering, we were greeted by Antonello, the chef/owner and his wife. The inside is cozy and charming, but the outside terrace is the place to be! The menu is small, and for us Americans, a little confusing. So, we asked the waitress to just bring us a sampling of the menu to share family style. Antipasti, housemade meats, and local cheeses served with traditional side dishes, including Nervetti, to begin. Braised beef, rabbit, and a mixed grill plate, with grilled veggies, polenta and potatoes. Oh my! Everything was delicious! Each person in our party had a different favorite dish, so I would recommend them all. After dinner, we tried the tiramisu, panna cotta, creme carmel, and vanilla ice cream with strawberries, and they were all great. But the best part of the meal was when Antonello came out, opened up a bottle of Grappa to share, and regaled us with stories of the local culture. If you want to get away from the tourist area, and have an authentic, local experience, go to La Fagurida!

Staying 3 days in Lake Como and that was our favourite from all restaurants, either posh or casual.
Family run, the food is just plain and tasty.
Owner and staffs are all so nice and friendly.
Antipasti were €12 for two with 5 plates of delicious starters.
I had just homemade pork sausage from the grill, perfect!
Wine was fabulous, again I asked the owner for recommendation and it was very correct.
View is lovely too, not easy to access by hirer, but once you are there, this is wonderful.
Definitely recommended.

This place was pretty cool with a lot of atmosphere. It's located in the mountains with a gorgeous view of the lake. You feel like it's someone's living room in a really good way! The outside seating is the only way to go! Bread not so good, super stale. But the best prosciutto and mozzarella there is. We had the polenta which was good but just too much and too heavy. The rabbit which was tasty and new for us and the slow cooked beef which was good!

It's a nice meal, nothing spectacular but nice and felt homey.

Wouldn't run back but wouldn't be opposed to going either.
