We've just come back from a fantastic week's skiing at Chalet Gallois. The chalet was perfect and the huge wood burner (with wood included in the price) meant lovely cozy evenings. It's very spacious and has everything you need for a family ski holiday including toys and games, high chair, children's plates etc. You could easily fit 2 families in here or, as we did, extended family/grandparents.
There is a very easy and frequent bus into the village (easy even with a toddler in a pushchair).
We even had our ski passes delivered to the chalet and a ski hire company came and did ski fitting at the chalet making everything so easy.
Chatel is a great place for children to learn to ski - My children had lessons with the local esf school where they were taught brilliantly and both progressed onto the easy blues around the gondola.
We had a fantastic holiday and I thoroughly recommend this chalet.
Year on year we keep on returning to this beautiful Alpine Chalet! The Chalet is always clean and beautifully presented upon arrival. The living room and kitchen area is fabulous with its high mezzanine ceiling, gorgeous large fire and a great large dining room table perfect to gather around for a meal. The bedrooms are lovely and comfortable with plenty of storage for all your bits and pieces. We have two young children and there is everything you need from a cot and high chair to table football and toys to keep them entertained. The sauna is the perfect way to relax at the end of a long day skiing. The Chalet is well stocked with everything you need to enjoy your holiday! There is even a fondue so you can try cooking some Alpine dishes - always one of our favourite meals during our holiday!
Outside, there is lots of space to sit and soak up the sunshine surrounded by fantastic scenery. The children love playing around the Chalet in the fresh mountain air.
The Chalet is perfectly situated in Chatel. For skiers its a very short trip on the free bus service to the slopes. Just a short walk up to the village and you will find lovely shops, bars and restaurants along with the superb new pool! There is also a small supermarket in the village or a much larger one 5 minute drive away.
We have also visited in the summer for an action packed holiday where the village comes to life with families, walkers and cyclists. There is plenty to do for young and old alike. Some of the lifts are open in the summer so you can visit the tops of the mountains without having to walk!
We are already looking forward to out next visit to Chalet Gallois!
