We booked through Holiday Lettings and, as with another reviewer, this is not the apartment we were actually staying in. Phillipe explained to us that the booked apartment wasn't available as there was an unspecified problem with it.. As my husband said, it would have been nice to know in advance - as the look of the apartment advertised was the reason for booking it - but that aside we were not too disappointed. Yes, the apartment is on the 5th floor - so definitely not for those with mobility difficulties - but so is the other apartment and it is rare to find elevators in the older buildings (certainly not in 17th century ones ...). Yes, the apartment is small but it was beautifully finished with a comfortable window seat area, a small kitchen area, Wi-Fi and a well equipped shower room. For the time we actually spent in the apartment in the 4 days we were in Paris it was absolutely perfect. In terms of location it was also excellent, a 15 minute stroll to the Seine and Note Dame. Plenty of bars and restaurants near by, including a lovely little café bar 3 steps from the apartment entrance, a lovely atmosphere at all times of day. Le Marais is very laid back and we loved it.
I have given the apartment a very good rating as it was lovely, despite not being the apartment we originally booked. I do genuinely hope that the other apartment was only temporarily unavailable, but if it remains unavailable for rent then I hope that the owner will be honest and change the pictures and listing so people know what they are getting in advance.

The pictures shown for the property are very deceptive and was actually not the one rented. The address finally given to us was for a different property. The actual apt was one room as tiny as it can get, just fitting a bed. I cant imagine a tinier bathroom or WC. On top of that it was the 5th floor without an elevator (not disclosed in the ad but disclosed when asked). The building looked nice and was in a desirable area, however on Saturday night at 2 pm we were woken up with loud banging on our neighbor's door and an ensuing loud argument for 30 min. It felt very eerie not even knowing how to call a cop if need be.
