Another break at Seamill House

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Aug 2024via mobile
My husband and I’s third stay at this hotel overlooking Seamill beach and Isle Of Aran. Beautiful views from executive rooms and restaurant.
Staff are lovely.
Very clean.
Comfortable super king bed in our room.
Large car park.
Super tasty breakfasts.
Nice drinks.
Dinner ok and would eat there again, however I was really disappointed with the Lobster Tail, not sure what was going on there it was overcooked and tough as old boots and very strange colours so I did not eat it(I’m used to having beautiful lobster on my many hols to Scotland) I was asked twice at dinner if everything ok and I mentioned my concerns regarding the lobster but this fell on deaf ears. Also on paying my bill on leaving I was asked if everything OK and mentioned the dodgy lobster and was told they would have a word with “the kitchen”. Also be wary of the “homemade “ raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake - it is a small can shaped piece of wafer filled with “I don’t know what” 😂😂😂 - it wasn’t awful but certainly was not cheesecake as per recipes I am aware of.
Everything else fine on this my third stay at Seamill House. It’s changed hands recently so maybe just teething problems so I probably will go back sometime in the future as it is in a lovely part of the world.

Despite an untidy entrance with a filled dog dirt bag lying at the front entrance this is hotel was a pleasant surprise. Looks recently refurbished inside & to a good standard. Well stocked modern bar area, very nice bedrooms & a restaurant with good views over to Arran. Dinner was very good.
Would recommend but try and book a room on the seaward side as there is a bit of road noise landward.

Booked an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast for my brother and sister in laws 25th wedding anniversary. Flowers, chocolates and champagne on arrival. Flowers were beautiful. Room was lovely with views across the sea. Both said it was the best meal they'd had in ages, and commented on the fabulous service.
Thank you for making this a great night for them.

Very expensive the portions of food were tiny.I ordered fish and chips the fish was tiny and a hot pickle with a small portion of chips. The service was OK the staff are all too young you need someone older to over look. The worst bit for me they had no pinot grigo surely someone could have gone to a shop and bought some.A large hotel with regular weddings etc shouldn't run out.I wouldn't rush back.

Had a meal with my lovely wife Andrena, the food and views from the restaurant are amazing, we had smoked Salmon and prawns to start which were delicious followed by a beautifully cooked roast beef dinner, the staff are so helpful and the prices are very fair. Cameron the manager was very helpful.

Room tip: Book early to guarantee a table.
