We loved it here. I'm glad we knew what the process was! You go in the doorway and there's a small fish counter with a man behind it who prepares the food. The man we met didn't speak English and we don't speak Portuguese. So he said "fish!" and we said "yes!" Then he mimed whole fish or filets, we said filets, and then he said something that we recognised as salad, potatoes...so again we said yes, and then he waved us upstairs.

The waiter upstairs spoke great English and recommended a lovely cherry liqueur, and brought us some bread and fresh cheese with chilli sauce.

The food was delicious - we got a big plates or very lightly fried chunks of white fish, so tasty and fresh and not at all heavy (I'm not usually a big fan of battered things). And a plate of potatoes, a plate of salad, and a plate of rice. We were full but it wasn't too much.

The fish and sides for the 2 of us was 30 Euros (I saw the fish man write down 30 and hoped it wasn't going to be each!). This felt like a decent price for the amount and quality. I would definitely recommend this place. It's just next to the beach of the same name, and they're building a hotel on it which will be a great location, but I hope it doesn't change this place too much.

this is the best place on north in the islands. We've ordered mix of grilled fish and shrimps. Everything was delicious and fresh

The fish was fresh for sure as we chose the ones we wanted before seating. While tasty the fish was prepared in an interesting manner. Rather than being served whole, it was cut into portions making it difficult to remove bones and skin. The meal included salad, boiled potato’s and rice, which were barely average. The atmosphere was non existent. Thankfully the staff was very helpful. There are many other places to enjoy fresh fish. I recommend passing on this one.
