The restaurant is located in the city of Ribeira Grande on Sao Miguel Island in the Azores. My wife and I ate there recently and it is now one of favorite places to eat and have a drink in Ribeira Grande.
The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering starters. I love the “ Broken Eggs”, which is a terrific take on Canadian poutine. The dish consists of homemade french fries smothered in cheese, yogurt, special spices and an awesome gravy, topped with a fried egg,....all mixed table-side by the server. The entrees are an eclectic and mouthwatering collection of favorites from around the world that the owner and chef, Nuno, has perfected over his many years of travel and practice. Try the “American Frenchie” for a very interesting and delicious take on a unique hamburger style dish.
All the items we had were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of home-made food. The owner/chef, Nuno takes great care in selecting the best quality, fresh, local ingredients. The restaurant also has a large selection of the good wines, beer and a full bar.
The high quality of the cooking was accompanied by great table service provided by our awesome server, Carla. She also made us the best Caipirinhas! Thank you Carla and Nuno for your conversation, good food and great service. It made for a wonderful evening.
In conclusion, we had a very pleasant dining experience with food that was fresh, delicious and exceeded our expectations. Accompanied by great table service and conversation. For this reason I highly recommend going to the PH Gastro Pub restaurant.
