Newish build so very modern & first glance it has an ugly appearance. Inside it is beautiful, public spaces are lovely. The bedrooms are white & bright with large comfy beds. Please note that the Shower rooms are on the small side. The restaurant is fabulous food best we’ve had so far on our Sicilian trip. Staff warm. Helpful & friendly. Pool area nice but slow service. Sun loungers are contemporary but also sadly very uncomfortable. Again another hotel that does not provide bathrobes! Car essential. Good central rural location to explore south east Sicily. Needs double traffic mirrors positioned opposite exit to make a safer exit onto road please.

We stayed 4 nights recently and found the staff very helpful and accommodating, the room large and comfortable (walls not very soundproof for a new building though), a good range of breakfast foods and a cold pool (it was October) but great Spa / Fitness Centre. Very good value, but be sure to enjoy the 4-course fixed price dinner which was exceptional - few choices for each course, but everything was delicious and the 30 Euro cost included water and a glass of tasty local wine. It is in a lovely rural position but be prepared to get lost finding it unless you have SatNav.

Room tip: the balconies all join up and so are not private.

My friend and I have just visited this hotel for the weekend. It is set in a quiet area in the Modica countryside. It is not a big hotel but has met most of our needs. It has a spacious parking lot, an outdoor pool, a small gym and a spa. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is great and well presented. There should be some cold milk served during breakfast to accompany tea though.

This hotel was fantastic, from the breakfast, to the spa, and the pool. Make sure you are aware that sometimes the pool is closed. Don't do what we did and go to this hotel to spend a weekend by the pool. To our immense disappointment it was closed for a wedding. Had to say sorry to the kids, I know we promised you a pool for WEEKS and are spending a few hundred dollars this weekend, but the hotel closed the pool for its guests without any type of compensation or way to make up for it. Other than that it was fine. But be ready for a disappointment.

Had a wonderful stay at Pietre Nere Resort. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the hotel was in top shape and had a wonderful Spa. Standard room was not overly spacious, but well worth the money, clean and excellent airconditioning. Oh, and a large bed.

Breakfast was extensive and sicilian, so expect cannoli's, more sweet things than savoury things but all very fresh (oh the ricotta). Italian coffee freshly made at the spot (no machines!!).Oh, and bubbles....

Easy to reach by car (use a car, it is in 'the middle of nowhere' but close to Modica), very quiet unless there is a wedding/party.
