This a park amid ruins of a castle, close to the town of Arona. It is a vantage viewing spot to view the town of Arona, Lake Maggiore and the castle across the lake.
You can reach the top of the hill on foot or by car. There is a toy train on wheels, which takes you from Arona to the top of this hill. The park is reasonable well maintained with green grass and the ruins are cordoned off with wooden poles. There is a bar and restaurant on top of the hill.

We walked from our Hotel in the city centre to the top while passing through local streets and enjoying the beautiful medieval houses and buildings. As we reached the top, it was beautiful and refreshing. It has some archeological ruins and a great viewing areas of the City and The Lake.
There is even a bar on top but we didnt even get a seat as it was overcrowded and everything was already reserved.

This is the best place of Arona to have a magnificent view of Lake Maggiore. The Rocca is the old castle if Arona, where S. Carlo was born. There are ruins of hte castle, some animals, a very nice restaurant but overall a spectacular view of the lake.
I visit the Rocca every time i go to Arona and every time is wonderful!!!

Few minutes walking from downtown you can reach a wonderful landscape, one of the oldest site in Arona. A tourist "train" stop at the Rocca Borromea.
You can drink and eat seeing the lake and the whole city.

This is such a great walk up and if you can not walk take the tourist train in summer. Worth the walk, take a book and have a great wine of aperitivo up there.
