Situated on the hill above town you can either hike it or take the car - we visited on a Sunday afternoon and parking was a problem although I did just manage to squeeze into a spot. There's great views up and down the lake, across the the Rocca di Angera and over/around Arona. Down and along the slope are goats and donkeys, plus a cafe near the top with adjacent childrens play area. There was some sort of "holistic" encampment spread over the grassed area and it was all very calm! There's plenty of seating, shade and a cooling breeze. Couldn't find any info regarding the site as I walked round but there are information panels giving plant information plus a panoramic map detailing points of interest on and around the lake. If you've got binoculars then remember to take them with you. Oh - and it's free!
