This restaurant was recommended to us by a local and I'm so glad! It was one of our first nights in the area and we were made to feel right at home. I definitely recommend coming here in the beginning of your stay to get acquainted with the local cuisine and then you can return! :)
I reserved by email in Italian but Gabriele speaks excellent English. He greeted us and led us to a table with my name on it. What a nice touch. We were right by the fireplace which was fabulous since it was cold out. Gabriele sits at each table and explains what is available that evening and makes wonderful suggestions, which you should definitely follow.
We shared an antipasto platter typical of the region, which was delicious. My husband had a black chickpea soup, also wonderful. I had pappardelle with wild boar sauce which was fabulous. For dessert we had a nice home made tiramisu. The wine was lovely.
Gabriele is very friendly, the ambiance was warm and friendly. The tables are long and shared but there was plenty of space, and the locals are so friendly we chatted with them.
Twice Gabriele invited the room to join in an international toast which was such a lovely treat. We felt welcomed and special. The food was fantastic and Gabriele was such a sweetheart. We will definitely return on our next visit.
