Glorious Alps, early snow on the peaks

Review of Le V de Vaujany
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Sept 2023via mobile
4 nights of luxury in the hotel V and in the tranquil village of Vaujany. Wonderful hotel, helpful, pleasant and attentive staff. Excellent spa and also hot tub on roof.
Great food in bistro bar and I believe even more exquisite in fine dining restaurant.
A great venue for cycling around alpe huez, col du glandon and col de croix de fer.
We will be back

What a fantastic little hotel in a perfect location a few minutes walk from the main gondola. We had a superior and club room for our family of four; both perfect and the superior room had a sitting area and great views out across the valley. Bathrooms were luxurious with fluffy towels and bathrobes and a perfect bath with masses of hot water! Teas and coffees etc provided in the room and stocked up daily along with little chocolates! We enjoyed the lovely pool (small but fine for a dip and jacuzzi) and sauna and steam room. The bar area was very welcoming for drinks après soo and we ate in the bistro twice which was a small menu but all very tasty (tartiflette, burger etc). We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel as found it too expensive so instead got croissants from the bakery opposite. The hotel also had access, at a cost, to ski lockers halfway between it and the lift. They were heated and very civilised compared to other places we had stayed! The location really was perfect and we also went to a couple of nice restaurants in Vaujanay which were just a few mins walk away. Reception and hotel staff went out of their way to help us every step of the way, even though it was their busiest week on February half term. I want to go back very soon!

Room tip: Book any local restaurants in busy periods - and also the hotel restaurant- to be sure to get tables at the time you want.

Excellent new restaurant offering delicious food in a modern alpine setting. We had asparagus risotto to start, then fish and black garlic chocolate for desert. Arrive early for a cocktail in the bar, where Max will look after you - try his Aphrodite. The terrace outside is perfect for an après-ski.

Great find for a birthday treat! we were there for 2 nights. Whitney checked us in and we got upgraded to a lovely Privilege room! It was lovely meeting her since we exchanged a few emails regarding our booking. Lovely lady who made us feel very welcome the minute we stepped in! We got to spend time in the bar for food and drinks, great atmosphere and lovely food. We also had dinner in the fine dining restaurant, very interesting menu and equally delicious. Breakfast was a bit of a let down but we enjoyed it nevertheless. The Restaurant Manager was very hands on and just so lovely (lady with long dark hair), always a smile one her face, very available to every guests, and seems to always be on duty mornings afternoons and evenings!
We tried the Spa and booked a relaxing massage which we enjoyed very much.
The Nordic bath was a bonus, pity we did not get a sunset that day! we'll have to come back for that :)
Very nice stay altogether in a very cosy establishment, beautifully decorated, with lovely staff. Their interior shop is a great addition in case you wanted to purchase something you liked in the hotel, they have a lot of beautiful decorations!
We will definitely be back as the location is perfect, quiet village feel whilst very near fantastic skiing options!

Room tip: I think all the rooms must be great,we had a Privilege Room, 304 and we loved it!

We stayed for three nights at this hotel and from the moment we arrived at reception our experience was fabulous. Our room was upgraded and we had a little balcony with a view of the mountains. We had a light meal in the bar the first night which was delicious in a warm atmosphere. We had the Nordic Bath experience which was fun to see sunset from the hot-tub on the hotel’s rooftop. The Spa was a welcome delight after a day’s skiing, small pool with jacuzzi one end and view of the mountains the other. Sauna & steam with a range of treatments if you wanted. We had dinner on our last night in the restaurant which for both service and food was excellent - highly recommend it. My only criticism, a small one would be the breakfast which we only had one morning and felt for the price we did not get value for money. All the staff were very friendly & helpful - a special thank-you to Whitney the receptionist you checked us in and out of the hotel as she is a true professional. A real treat for the first hotel stay since the pandemic!

Room tip: No parking onsite, but there is undercover parking very close by which is free.

We treated ourselves to a delicious lunch at Hotel V. We were greeted by Arnault the chef by name and served by the lovely Tippi and Anais.
We managed a tour around the beautiful hotel and spa.
A delightful hotel, an asset to Vaujany! We will definitely be back!
