We are experienced riders but after a very bad accident, I am easing myself back into the lighter side of equestrian activities. This was perfect. We both had sprightly steeds: not too docile that it was boring and not too feisty that I was a bit edgy.
The history of the area is worth the ride on its own: what a shame that everyone doesn't have access to their knowledge of the goldmining and past events in the Valley. It was excellent.
We did get a chance to canter and the horses were awesome.
Highly recommend this ride for the history AND for the fun of horse riding.
Absolutely loved this adventurous ride through the beautiful countryside. Horses and other animals around the property were gentle and friendly. Ride was tailored to our experience level with great commentary and chatting with our guide, Sam. Unmissable experience if visiting the area. Getting to stop for a drink at the pub was a bonus.

What's not say! This was my absolute favourite activity to do in the South Island. I had such a wonderful time learning about the area and animals. Our guide Sam was so knowledgeable and lovely. Such a fantastic day and highly recommend if you are ever in the area.
Fantastic Team and a unique way to experience what the area has to offer. We enjoyed learning some of the gold mining history of the area too. Would definitely recommend and do again.
