Average hotel. All basic facilities like kitchenette etc is available. Reception only 10 am to 6 PM. No daily house keeping g and no attached restaurant. Very close to the centre restaurants and the lake. Bus pick up and drop is 5 minutes walk. May not recommend for stay.
We stayed for three nights. The room on the first floor had a view of the mountain. All amenities in place. However, there is zero service/help available even for seniors. Obviously, there is a shortage of staff. The locational advantage to grocery stores and restaurants is a plus point.
Good Points. Comfortable bed, spacious room, good shower, great location, free parking if you are one of the first 9 cars in.
Bad Points. The whole structure creaks all day and night and wakes you up regularly. We booked a kitchenette and found a one burner electric plate in the cupboard where the heat was useless. The baby refrigerator was so small we had to buy ice each day for our tiny portable cooler. The place is worn out, carpet needed a shampoo, base of the shower was not clean, furniture was dusty and balcony furniture filthy. Walls are thin and you can hear conversations next room. Fortunately we spent as little time as possible in the room during the lengthy stay. Certainly overpriced for what we received and maintenance is overdue.
Right in the center of Wanaka, only a few minutes walk to the lake and restaurants, with a huge supermarket right beside the motel. Beautiful wood interior, but you must be aware of the downside as they can create wood cracking sound during sunrise when temperature gets higher, so don't be alarmed by that. The beddings are comfortable, wifi is fast and shower is strong. Overall this is a great value and convenient place to stay in Wanaka
