Cozy and close to everything!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 12 Aug 2018
Aspiring has a very strategic location! it is very near the centre and the lake and you can go to New World to grab some grocery on the other side of their fence. Staff are awesome and friendly. The room is cozy enough and you feel like you are in a log cabin away from the city.
Date of stay: August 2018
Room Tip: I so love the jacuzzi tub!

We stayed in Unit 1 - Executive Studio. This motel is situated in town right next to the New World and a 2 minute walk to bars/pubs/rentals. There is a fully functioning kitchen and fridge/freezer so you can cook what you like. They do ask that you avoid cooking strong smelling food. The give 6 single (15ml) milk cartons per day so you don't need to buy any if just having a cuppa.
The website says it has a pull-out sofa bed, this must be old as it only has a 2 seat and 1 seat couch; no pull-out bed.
It is warm, we turned off the heater before going to bed and it was still warm in the morning even though it was freezing cold outside.
There is no drying room for ski/snowboard gear, however you can hang it up on the coat hanger with the heater on and it will be dry by the morning. We put our snowboard boots and gloves in front of the heater and they dried out fine.
There is a guest laundry (washer and dryer) available from 2pm-5pm for $5 per load, but if you ask nicely they will take your laundry in the morning before you head out and drop it in your room when it is done. Many thanks!

I loved this place. Our room was dated and perfectly clean and functional. I was so impressed with the staff, nothing was too much bother, they were happy and laid back, and we had everything we needed to be comfortable for our stay. It was very affordable at $150 for 3 people/night. Walking distance to everything we needed, and it has its own cute courtyard (downstairs rooms). Be sure to Check your sliding door is LOCKED before bed or leaving the room. We thought it was kitch to be right in the car park of the store. And no it was not noisy.

Room tip: Downstairs, less secure but easier for luggage.

This was an awesome place to stay in Wanaka, we were on a girls weekend with 7 of us and the location was awesome right next to New World. The rooms themselves were a little on the cold side but they provide heating and electric blankets. The service was awesome - lovely woman on the front desk called me to inform me we left alcohol there and offered to hold it for us but we were half way to CHCH by then. All in all I would stay again!

Motel was very convenient for amenities but being so close had it's down side. Very noisy at night when people returning from the bars etc. Kept getting disturbed every 15 minutes by people walking back to their accommodation, but lesson learned. Studios were clean and spacious

Room tip: Away from street

All good. Nice room.
Small kitchenette had everything I needed.
Stayed downstairs for 1 night.
WiFi worked fine.
Walls and isolation seems fine.
One restaurant behind the motel. Which was not noisy the Thursday night I spend here.
Lots of cars on the road behind the motel.
Sounds like there currently is some construction going on not too far from the hotel, started at 8.30am.
