We stayed at the Edgewater as we had a family wedding being held there.

Our 2 bedroom apartment was spacious, tidy and clean. Lovely views over the lake and grounds.

Rooms serviced and tidied each day which was nice to come back too.

WiFi was fine - did the trick!

Washing machine & dryer facilities were included in our room which was great. The only thing I felt we needed was a portable washing line as myself personally I’m not a fan of using a dryer to dry my clothes. I note there was a portable line in the bathroom over the bath (I think that’s what it was) but it didn’t hold the clothes up very well and was too small unfortunately. A portable one stored in the wardrobe or something would have been perfect.

Good kitchen facilities, jug, sink, microwave, mini fridge etc.

Definitely a picture perfect location and great for photos!!

The only real issue we had which was mainly noticed around the grounds, entrance and where the wedding reception was held was wasps and lots of them. I’m not sure if it was that particular time of year or whether it has just got severe or not as I don’t see it mentioned in any other reviews but while we were there it was very full on wasp wise which made us feel a tad jumpy and worried about being stung. This may not bother a lot of people but it did make us feel a bit uncomfortable.

Otherwise a great stay, many thanks!

Hi LeeBrian000

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we're delighted that you had a pleasant stay with us. I note your comment about a rack for drying clothes and will discuss this with our rooms team here.
Unfortunately the wasps are particularly bad in Wanaka this year - we keep a vigilant watch out for nests and our maintenance crew have removed a few already from the waterfront and neighbouring land - thankfully we have had no reports of stings but appreciate that they can be annoying all the same.
Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you back here someday.
Kind regards
Mike Barton

The Edgewater is a very nice, relaxing place to stay in Wanaka. Big rooms with coffee maker, microwave, stovetop. So you can but groceries and cook in the save $$ if you want. beautiful lake view. very relaxing!! beggar ducks will come right up to you for food. wish we could have stayed here the whole trip. very friendly staff. the only downside is that check-out time is 10am (which seems to be normal for NZ) but they will store your luggage after checkout.

Room Tip: lake view, ground floor if you like ducks

Hi larrywQ2362FX, we're delighted that you had such a lovely visit with us and wanted to stay longer. Our self contained suite rooms which you stayed in are definitely the best choice for a multi night stay so you can unpack, spread out, catch up on washing clothes etc. We had no choice but to change our checkout time to 10.00am a couple of years ago as we are finding more and more guests are wanting to check in at around 2.00pm to make the most of their time in Wanaka. Now that you know where we are we would love to see you back again some day.
Kind regards
Mike Barton

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the sunshine at Edgewater. Lovely friendly staff. Will be back. Nice place to relax at any time of the day. Try a walk along the lake then Edgwater is the perfect spot for a Coffee & scone.

Hi and thank you for penning a review. Calm sunny mornings are ideal for a leisurely brunch or coffee and scones on our terrace, and equally nice by the log fire when the seasons change and the temperatures drop. We look forward to seeing you here again soon.
Thanks again and best regards.

The service at Edgewater was amazing. We had a private function there one night, and the staff were awesome. In particular, one of the workers named Courtney, showed exceptional customer service, and they all had beautiful smiles on their faces. Made the time and experience there worth while. Thank you guys!

There's a night that my family and I reach Wanaka late night, went to out booked + paid stay but end up having no one answering the door nor the phone calls. Feeling exhausted and disappointed, I flipped thru Tripadvisor for nearby stays and found Edgewater picking up my call and arranged last minute check-in for us. Really thankful for the arrangement and the room is out and more than expectation. We love it and will truly recommend it to anyone visiting Wanaka. Steps away, really a few steps, away from Lake Wanaka, and the Wanaka Tree.
