Great site, well located

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 25 Jan 2017
We stayed at this site on our way south through South Island in a Britz campervan and found it to be clean and well run. Our pitch also was close to the amenitiy block with WC , Kitchen and laundry. We even had a view of the lake.
Our our way back north we had thought to stay at Queenstown but found the town to be busy, and over commercialised, as a result we travelled on to Wanaka and had another night there. The operator was very accommodating and helpful allowing us to relocate to a different pitch as the one allocated had poor Wifi reception Our new pitch was again close to the amenity block with great views of the hills around us.

When making long term bookings Top10 Wanaka are just highly professional and highly accommodating to all of our needs. You willl be hard stretched to find more accommodating and kind hosts than Jo and Hamish - they are always most willing to go the extra mile and a bit further than that. We stayed for a long time and could never fault the professionalism and the extreme helpfulness of both. It is great to see that they are building the place up to a high standard again while having incredibly affordable accommodation. We live in Europe and will continue to recommend staying at Top10 Wanaka. We also appreciate the fact that they are open to dog owners which we found to be extremely rare in New Zealand. Keep up the good work, we will be back for sure. Simone & Michael

Thank you for your feedback Simone and Michael. We appreciate your comments and we know we can't have everyone like you as campers!
As new owners we are taking all feedback onboard to improve the facilities but unfortunately we will never be able to please everyone.
We look forward to seeing you again shortly!

This site is well situated in Wanaka and has reasonable facilities, however, the tent site I used had a concrete slab underneath (or very dense rock) which made pitching our tent incredibly difficult. We were there on Dec 28 and expected a bit of noise, but the main issue was the security guards on the front gate. Late night chatter and early morning noise from them, as well as the lack of warning towards campers making excessive noise was not great after a long day of hiking.

Thank you for your feedback.
Apologies to hear that the security guards were noisy and not warning noisy campers.
We will make sure that does not happen again.

Stayed here in a tent for the night. The tent sites are at the front of the property so there was a lot of traffic noise and early in the morning around 5am there was a lot of noise from the horses across the road. The amenities on the lower side of the property were very old and tired, we did not use these, instead we went up to the top of the property and used the facilities close to the powered van sites, they were cleaner and more spacious than the ones near the tent sites. A plus would be that the tent sites are spacious and well sheltered from the wind. Good wifi reception too. Reception staff a tad impatient and cold. Probably the worst of the Top 10 holiday parks we have stayed at so far. The place is in need of an upgrade.

Thank you for your feedback. We were full when you stayed so that would have been the only available sites. Yes the amenities down the bottom are in need of an upgrade and that will be done this year. Those facilities are only open over the December/January period. As new owners we take your feedback to improve and upgrade our facilities.
We take pride in how our reception staff meet and greet customers in such a bubbly friendly manner so was taken aback with your comment of inpatient and cold. We have since had a meeting with our staff so this does not occur again.

Fabulous facilities, beautiful location and wonderful company. Have been in past and will be back, however, feel as though new management have a lot to learn! Rude, condescending and an air of arrogance. Felt slightly unwelcome as he patrolled the camp like a dictator! Did not let it take away from our trip though!

As new owners to the park we appreciate your feedback. Hamish has been trying to eliminate a lot of people using our facilities for free. We don't want you to have to pay for freeloaders by increasing your tariff. If he appeared rude you must have misinterpreted him. Glad to hear it didn't take it away from your trip and we look forward to seeing you again.

Not a good family experience - party zone after Christmas. People drinking under-age, partying all night, urinating and throwing up everywhere. Facilities unclean and tired. Campervan went rolled down the hill as hand break wasn't put on correctly - through the fence and nearly into the pool where my kids were swimming. Families should be warned!!

Thank you for your feedback Deidre.
New Year in Wanaka is renowned for attracting young people and our regular family tent campers wait until after New Year to come camping. All our groups had parents with them and unfortunately the group you are referring to had a parent that did not have control over that group and they were asked to leave the day after.
The campervan was an unfortunate accident. The couple had put the handbrake on and it failed. There were some great people at the time who quickly cleared the area of children near the pool.
Families that have been coming back for many years always comment how great it is here.
