Amazing lunch at the Big Fig. Pull apart sticky shawarma that melted in your mouth and a series of perfectly flavoured salads to accompany. Nuts and citrus and date and lemon flavours... Simply the freshest and tastiest meal I have eaten in a long time.

Wanted to try something different on a quick trip to Wanners and someone recommended the newest joint in town, Big Fig. Go straight to the top of the class guys. Fantastic fresh Lebanese inspired flavours - think Greg Malouf Kiwi style. From the selection of ready to eat dishes we had slow-cooked lamb shoulder (shawarma), spiced chicken, beef and lamb meatballs plus some super fresh and enticing fresh salads - Israeli couscous, apple slaw, and quinoa. All were clearly made fresh that evening and delicious - not a fault to be found. And a steal at $60 including a couple of craft beers. Absolute must visit for people who like real food cooked with care - modern, full of flavour, healthy - and understated but friendly Kiwi service. You can dine in or takeaway. And it's easy to find on the waterfront next door to the iSite information centre. More than highly recommended.
